Fix Black Screen After Injection — Windows
STEP 01 of 4

The issue & Open Settings

The issue

After injection, the game or app shows a black screen instead of rendering correctly. This often happens when Windows GPU and windowed-game optimizations conflict with the injected process.

We’ll fix it by changing two graphics options in Windows. First, open Settings.

🔍
Press Win to open Windows Search, type Settings, then open Settings (the app with the gear icon).
⚙️
Or open the Start menu and click the Settings (gear) icon in the left sidebar.
STEP 02 of 4

Go to Display & graphics

In Settings, navigate to the graphics options where we’ll turn off the two features that cause the black screen.

📂
Click System in the left sidebar (or in the main Settings list).
🖥️
Click Display in the right-hand options.
📌
Scroll down and click Change default graphics settings (under “Related settings” or “Graphics”).
💡 Path: Settings → System → Display → Change default graphics settings. You need to be in this screen for the next steps.
STEP 03 of 4

Turn off Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling

This feature can make injected apps render a black screen. Turning it off usually fixes the issue.

🔴
Find Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling (or Hardware Accelerated GPU).
⬇️
Set the toggle to Off. If you don’t see this option, your Windows or driver version may not support it — continue to the next step.
STEP 04 of 4

Turn off Optimizations for windowed games

This setting can also cause a black screen with injected or windowed apps. Disable it to complete the fix.

🪟
Find Optimizations for windowed games on the same “Default graphics settings” page.
⬇️
Set the toggle to Off.
💡 Tip: Restart the game or app after changing these settings. If the black screen persists, try restarting your PC and updating your GPU drivers.
You're all set!

Both graphics options are disabled. Restart the game or app that was showing the black screen. If issues persist, restart your PC and ensure your GPU drivers are up to date.
